Assigning candidates

Assigning candidates

Shifts in Skillo

There are 3 colors associated to shifts represented in Skillo reflecting their assignment status:

  • gray shifts - these shifts are scheduled but not assigned

  • blue shifts - these shifts are scheduled and assigned. They are reflected on the assigned candidate's schedule as well.

  • green shifts - these shifts are part of approved shifts requests. They are reflected on the assigned candidate's schedule as well.

Assining candidates

A user can assign a candidate to a shift or job either from a specific requirement page or the live labour journal page.

Assigning from the requirement page

The requirement page has the jobs on the left and the calendar with the shifts on the right.

Clicking on a job opens up the job panel and marks the shifts that are part of that job in the calendar.

If a job is not fully filled in a button will be present labeled "Assign candidate on this Job".

Clicking on it opens up the candidate assign modal.

Clicking on a gray shift anywhere on the page will open up the shift details modal.

In the middle column there will be a big blue button labeled "Assign on this shift".

Clicking on it opens up the candidate assign modal.

Assigning from the live labour journal page

Clicking on a gray shift anywhere on the page will open up the shift details modal.

In the middle column there will be a big blue button labeled "Assign on this shift".

Clicking on it opens up the candidate assign modal.

You can also hold down the CTRL key on Windows or Options key on Mac and click on multiple shifts of the same job to assign a candidate to multiple shifts at once.

The candidate assign modal

The candidate assign modal allows you to filter the candidate you want to assign on a specific job or shift.

The candidate assign modal is vertically split in two.

  • potential or filtered candidas

  • candidate details

Each candidate is validated based on the constraints selected in the Compliance settings section.

If a candidate has a green button labeled Assign on the right side of the table then the candidate can be assigned to the respective jobs or shifts.

Clicking on the Assign button will trigger a set of procedures that assign the candidate to that job/shift (see bellow).

If a candidate has a red ⚠️ triangle and a number on the right side of the table then the candidate cannot be assigned to the respective jobs or shifts. You can click on the button to review what constraints would be exceeded and do not allow the candidate to be assigned to the job/shift.

The assignment

Once the "Assign" button has been clicked Skillo takes the following actions:

  • we perform all the validations checked and described in the Compliance settings section.

  • we determine the travel time for each shift individually for both the departure and arrival segments to and from the candidate's address to the work site

  • we determine the Fatigue Index and the Risk Index for each shift individually

  • we check for any doot-to-doo exceedances if a hard blocker is not set

  • we propagate those shifts to the candidate's schedule

ℹ️ Keep in mind, these operations are quite time consuming and sometimes it might take a couple of seconds, especially when assigning to multiple shifts at the same time.
